The Trademark Clearinghouse has launched the Trademark Registry Exchange (“TREx”), a new service for trademark holders to cost-effectively reserve their brands in the new gTLD space. Like Donuts’ Domains Protected Mark List (“DPML”), the TREx blocks marks across several new gTLDs among participating registry operators. The initial group includes 40 TLDs and is expected to expand to more new gTLDs, legacy gTLDs and ccTLDs as more registries onboard to the service:
Brand holders must register trademarks in the Trademark Clearinghouse in order to hold a TREx registration. As an accredited Trademark Clearinghouse agent, we can provide additional information on request.
